Basil
Can be propagated from seed or from stem cutting. When buying potted basil from the supermarket, it must be separated into individual potted plants.
To propagate from stem cuttings, remove all but the last two pairs of leaves and place in water. Roots will form in 2-3 weeks, then the plant can be potted.
Pruning: cut above a set of leaves to encourage branching at that node and promote bushy growth.
